Kelly holds a masters degree in Child Development from Tufts University and a bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Denver.
She is coauthor (with her mom, Edna) of Ages & Stages: Off to a Good Start and Teacher Pages. She’s also a contributing author to Parent Pages and will be a guest blogger on this site from time to time.
Her diverse background in relating to families includes working with children with special needs, counseling children in residential care, and being an assistant teacher at Eliot Pearson School.
She was the Executive Director of Colorado Springs Assets for Youth through 2008, and is now developing curriculum and outreach for her newly founded Pikes Peak for Youth, LLC. She is an instructor for KIDPOWER of Colorado Springs, a national organization that teaches safety and confidence-building to young people ages 3-18. For many years she’s been a Yoga enthusiast, and is currently working on her certification as a Yoga instructor. She’s interested in creating Yoga classes for children that combine their amazing story telling abilities with simple poses and relaxation strategies.
Kelly lives in Manitou Springs with her husband, her one-year-old son, and a couple of rambunctious dogs. Whenever possible, she’s outside hiking, swimming and cycling.
