Kelly is coauthor of Ages & Stages: Off to a Good Start and also a contributing author to Parent Pages. She holds a master’s degree in child development from Tufts University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Denver. Her published works include “Avoidance, Frustration, and Hostility During Toddlers’ Interaction with Their Mothers and Fathers,” coauthored with Dr. Martha J. Garcia-Sellers and published in the journal Infant-Toddler Intervention 10, no. 4 (2000).

Her diverse background in relating to families comes from working with children with special needs, counseling children in residential care, and being an assistant teacher at Eliot Pearson School for ages four through eight. She is the Executive Director for Colorado Springs Assets for Youth, Inc. She lives with her husband Joe and their dog Ansel in Manitou Springs, Colorado.

Kelly is a “bring it on” kind of person and enjoys all types of sports, from hiking and biking to rock climbing.
